This is mainly because there are different types of silicone molds that are available in the market and there are three types that are highly popular in the market. It usually depends with the part where the molding is supposed to be and also its design.

There is the liquid injection molding which is commonly known as LMI and it is the molding method that requires the highest temperatures and the lowest pressures and it usually chosen for applications of high volumes. It is highly advantageous and it is the most preferred clean silicon process over all the others.

The liquid clean silicone that is made up of two parts in this process is directly delivered by the pumping systems into the mixer. This is then injected to the mold cavity directly and this is done in a process that is completely closed. This allows the avoidance of certain particulates and contamination from occurring. This process also does not use much of human interaction and this allows improvement of the process variation. This process is also very fast and clean.

There is also the compression and transfer silicone molding process. These methods are widely used for the medical products and they are also accepted in most of the areas. This is not the same as the LMI process since they require more labor and also material premixing which is done on double roll mill. The operating cycles of these processes are also longer because of the fact that they need to be operated at temperatures that are low.

They have slow curing times and this makes it possible for the large molds that have many cavities to be witnessed in diaphragms, o ring seals, and bottle closures and may other applications. The transfer molding process is different from the compression process because the hydraulic ram is used to displace the rubber in the transfer while rubber is placed into the cavities physically which allows the complete filling of the mold. There is also the micro molding clean silicone process that is smaller and much more complex than all the other processes. This makes it the least used molding process in the industry.
